Our Year 5 Camp theme, Words Have Power, challenged students to reflect on the impact of the words they use, both towards others and towards themselves when faced with challenges. Throughout the camp, students stepped outside of their comfort zones and embraced opportunities to grow through activities such as vertical rope challenges, raft building, and team-based problem-solving tasks that required cooperation, communication, and perseverance.
Students also thoroughly enjoyed learning valuable new skills, including how to read maps and participating in a land-based search and rescue challenge. These experiences encouraged students to think critically, work together under pressure, and support one another every step of the way.
It was incredibly encouraging to witness the growth in all students across the camp experience. They faced challenges with remarkable tenacity while consistently showing love, kindness, encouragement, and support towards their peers. We are so proud of the way our Year 5 students represented our school community and the positive attitudes they demonstrated throughout camp.
