WACSSA Interschool Swimming Carnival

On Tuesday 26th of March, a select number of Year 4 to 6 students competed in the WACSSA Division 2 Swimming Carnival, swimming against five other schools: Regent College, Ellenbrook Christian College, Mundaring Christian College, Kalamunda Christian School, and Foundation Christian College.

The events of the day included individual races in each stroke, as well as mixed medley relays in each year group, along with a mixed freestyle relay. The final event of the day was the much-anticipated and entertaining Grand School relay, which featured the fastest freestyle male and female swimmers for each year group swimming in a 6-person relay. Beechboro claimed a victorious 1st place, showing a strong start and maintaining a lead throughout the race.

Our students swam confidently and demonstrated great perseverance and determination, with some students earning individual medals in the Top 3 positions per year. Although our upper-year students didn’t secure as many medal placings, it is encouraging to see our Year 4s showing great promise in the pool for years to come. Many of our swimmers improved their times significantly, with some shaving up to 13 seconds off their previous times for the same stroke last year.

Throughout the day, there was a close competition for 2nd and 3rd place, with Mundaring and Beechboro both within points of each other at each score update. Ultimately, Regent College emerged victorious, with Beechboro placing 2nd overall, ahead of Mundaring in 3rd place.
