NAIDOC Incursion

Our school participated in a NAIDOC Incursion on Monday, the 12th of August.

Our Kindy and Pre-Primary students learned about various aspects of Noongar culture, from colours and animals to songs and paintings. Students tasted damper, painted their own feathers, and participated in Noongar dances to gain an understanding of the culture and stories of First Nations peoples.

Students in Years 1 to 6 were taught about the Noongar seasons, the significance of community, and how Aboriginal people map and navigate the land.

The students learned that by honouring the culture and practices of First Nations peoples, we can “Keep the Fire Burning.”
